Attorneys and Paralegals can prepare divorce forms for either party in a family law matter.

Attorneys can prepare divorce documents and appear in court on the parties behalf. However, Legal Document Assistants (LDA) can only prepare family law documents for unrepresented parties. LDAs cannot appear in court on a party's behalf. Paralegals generally work under the supervision of an attorney. LDAs are licensed and bonded professionals that can work for the public without attorney supervision. LDAs can also prepare forms for civil matters as well. Those matters include evictions, child custody & support, expungements, probate and much more. Paralegals are able to prepare legal forms at a fraction of the cost of an attorney. If a savvy litigant feels like they can represent their self in court they may only need a experienced LDA.
